Why it helps
Copper is naturally antibacterial, which is why these vessels have been used to hold drinking water for close to five thousand years. It is also a metal that ages rather than wears out — it darkens as you handle it, and a lemon brings the shine straight back.
The evidence
Strong. Studies have found that water contaminated with E. coli, cholera and typhoid bacteria showed none of them recoverable after 16–24 hours stored in a copper vessel, with copper levels staying well inside WHO safe limits. It makes stored water safer; it is not a detox or a cure.
Care
Water only, never juice or anything acidic. Hand wash, and empty it daily. Lemon and salt restores the shine, or let it darken. Not for anyone with Wilson disease.
Materials
We work mainly in copper, moso bamboo, beechwood, cotton and natural fibre — materials chosen because they age well and because they have been doing these jobs for a very long time. Each piece is described above.
Care
Keep wood and bamboo dry between uses and they will last for years. Copper can be polished with half a lemon and a pinch of salt whenever you want the shine back, or left alone to darken. Nothing here is dishwasher safe.
Shipping & returns
Flat rate delivery: AED 40 to the UAE, Europe and Asia, and AED 70 to the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. One rate per order, however much you buy. Delivery times and full terms are set out in our shipping policy.
Unused items can be returned within 14 days of delivery, in their original packaging, with return shipping paid by you. Contact us first so we can confirm the return address. Anything faulty or damaged in transit is replaced or refunded at our cost.
